Terrific example of Trench Art from WW1

This is a silver coin, a liberte egalite fraternite coin that has had the back polished off and an etching of a WW1 soldier and his girlfriend etched into the back.

The soldier is clearly in uniform but the girl who has her arm around him has a ghostly appearance on the coin, it is a little lighter.

A wonderful piece of WW1 history.
