WW1 Trench Art - a French soldier's "porte-plume" pen/pencil holderengraved with the sweetheart's name "Madeleine" Opportunity to own a very collectable Great War Trench Art relic, being a Poilu's porte-plume (French soldier's pen and pencil writing holder).Crafted from two inert bullets welded together, these open to reveal a pencil and an ink-dip nib for the writing of letters, messages, poems etc.One of the casings has been engraved with the soldier's sweetheart/loved one's name: "Madeleine", which could have been a gift for her or the name captured for its owner to look at as a daily reminder of his loved one, as he served in the army..... Measures appx. 16cm long, and would make a good addition to add value and interest to any militaria or writing collection.
