This is a unique US Army combat medic's camo helmet from WW1 that is every bit original! It has a colorful camouflage pattern with the USA Shield, the soldier's initials on the shield and the medical symbol, winged staff and two serpents. Everything is handpainted. The pad at the crown of the helmet interior is present, the padded ring is missing. Although the chin strap is not attached, I have a portion of it. This helmet was purchased at an estate sale in Martinsburg, WV. I missed some All American Division (AA) photos (Now 82nd Airborne Division), but was fortunate to get the helmet. This veteran was probably a member of this division. I asked the family if t were any other military items to be sold and they told me that their grandmother donated everything to the Phillipi, WV Museum w her husband was from. I must visit this small museum to see what else was available. S&H in the USA is $9. |
