Offered for sale: One British Enfield 1907 bayonet and leather scabbard mfg by Wilkinson, in excellent condition. This bayonet was manufactured in August of 1917. The blade is nice and clean with light blue to bright finish. It does not appear to have been sharpened since being issued. The blade is approx 17 inches in length and bayonet is approx. 22 inches overall. Right side of ricasso is marked with the British Crown, 1907, 8 - 17 and Wilkinson The other side has British bend test and other proof marks. The wood grips show normal use/handling marks and are fairly dark from being soaked in oil for so many years but are not split or cracked. T are no cracks, splits or rot in the leather of the scabbard and stitching is all intact. The metals tip and throat has a brown/blue finish. The research I have done indicates that the tear drop style frog stud is correct for this British bayonet. I see a lot of British 07 pattern bayonets for sale on E-bay and other places but most do not have the scabbard included. All around a 90+ year old bayonet that has survived in better than average condition.
