A unique wartime trench art ashtray that looks to have been made for cigars based on the size of the 2 holders. It has a loop handle and a matchbox. All of these items were made by 1 continuous cut of the shell casing and then shaped and twisted into position. As with most trench art a lot of thinking went into the design of this piece. The casing measures 3 3/16" across the top and 4 1/16 across the bottom. 3" tall at the highest point. Markings on the bottom appear to be 12/15 lot 229 18PR AL00 XX. This would be a great addition to any collection. Please check photos and Thanks for looking !
