is your chance to own a very well preserved and rare US Marine Corps WW1 era Model 1912 enlisted man's uniform grouping. Winter tunic and trouser set in Forest Green wool. Additional khaki summer weight tunic included in the set. Both tunics have 3 striped sergeant rank insignia and owner's name written inside both coats: "M.J. Savage". The Pattern of 1912 Enlisted Winter Service Tunic has two pleated breast pockets, two non-pleated lower pockets, standing collar and pointed cuffs. Beautiful sergeant rank insignia with red backing hand sewn on. The five main buttons are a ll very well preserved and original blackened bronze "Scovill MFG" brand. The smaller buttons for the epaulettes and pockets are also well preserved and original "Devans, Attelboro Falls " brand. The top left breast pocket button is missing. The two collar hooks and fasteners are present and very solid. Soldier's name is stamped in each shoulder well on the sleeve lining material which is different than the main liner; some of the stitches are coming undone but still securely attached to the main lining which is green cotton. T are a couple small rust stains on the inside lining and several small moth nips on the outside: back left shoulder, left front pocket, right lower back and the largest about ¼" in diameter at the bottom right hand cuff.
