WW2 ERA 743RD TANK BN DISTINCTIVE INSIGNIA AND A TANKERS COLLAR BRASS.. THE 743RD TANK'S LANDED IN THE FIRST WAVE ON OMAHA BEACH WITH THE 116TH INFANTRY THAT WAS PART OF THE 29TH DIVISION. THEY WERE INVOLVED IN THE HEAVY FIGHTING THAT MET THE FIRST WAVE ON D-DAY. SOME OF THESE WERE THE DUPLEX DRIVE TYPE TANKS THAT WERE ABLE TO MOVE THROUGH THE WATER, SOMEWHAT UNSUCCESSFULLY THOUGH. THIS INSIGNIA IS A PIN BACK AND HAS THE MAKERS NAME DONDERO AND STERLING ON BACK. CONDITION IS EXCELLENT. THE TANKER COLLAR BRASS SHOWS LIGHT WEAR BUT IS IN GREAT SHAPE. THE 743RD INSIGNIA IS A HARD TO FIND PIECE SO DONT MISS THIS FOR YOUR D-DAY UNITS COLLECTION. GOOD LUCK
