World War II Brigadier General Kenneth George Althaus Helmet Seam in Front, Stationary Swivel, Helmet only, Name inside KG Althaus, underneath his name are the numbers 0 6208 Brigadier General Althaus was friends with Patton's son, Col. Patton, and later with Gen. Patton In The Third Army under Gen. Patton, He was Commander of Combat Command A, 10th Armoured Division, from Sept. 1944 to Dec. 11 1944 from the divisions arrival in the ETO until their arrival on the Moselle. He was wounded in a land mine explosion in France. He retired in 1946 after 32 years and the owner of Silver Springs encouraged him to move to Ocala, FL where he was known as General and a community leader. He was superintendent of plants and grounds at Silver Springs when it was privately owned and was responsible for the beautiful landscaping of this well known attraction. He was also an astute oil painter. He passed away in 1987. That is how this one of a kind World War II Brigadier General's helmet came to this area.
