Up for auction is an original WW2 US Navy MK2 knife ca. 1943 manufactured by Camillus. The knife is in excellent, unissued condition, with only minor wear from storage. The factory sharpened 7" blade retains 99+% of the original gray parkerized finish, with only minor in/out wear. The obverse blade ricasso is marked "CAMILLUS, N.Y.", and the reverse "U.S.N. MARK 2". The pommel is the thin pinned second type, and also retains beautiful finish. The stacked leather grip is nice and tight, with untouched glossy finish. The original fiber scabbard is also in excellent condition, with storage wear only. The obverse throat is marked "U.S.N. MK 2", and the reverse with "NORD-4723" over "B.M. Co./3 V.P.", representing manufacture by the Beckwith / Victory Plastics conglomerate . The throat retains 98+% of the original silver parkerized finish, and the fiber body retains the majority of the original gray painted finish . T are some minor stains to the obverse of the fiber body which I chose to leave, but may clean off if desired. The light grey cotton canvas suspension is also in similar shape, the snap functions perfectly. The combination of pinned pommel, blade mark, and fiber scabbard would date this knife to the late 1943- early 1944 time period. It would be very difficult to upgrade this knife for condition! A excellent condition knife
