NO RESERVE ---------An Original Super Nice WW2 Army 11th Infantry Campaign Hat size 7-3/8" . Has the 11th Infantry Crest affixed to the front as well as the blue infantry cord. This was an estate find many years ago!! Inside the hatband is stamped " U.S. Army Spec 8-22 Penna Q.M. Depot - H . McLachland & Co. - Stock Number 73-H-56250 - 7-3/8 " . Also the inkstamp ID of the vet " G0013". The stitchings on the hatband are comming loose, & on the front of the hat is a small spot (on Pix below) of red Paint or? Doesn't detract from the nice Hat!! This is quaranteed Original . The winning bidder will like this !! World War I = 11th Infantry Unit history: On 24 April 1918, the regiment sailed for France . By May 1918 it joined the 5th Division near Chaumont, France . The 11th then took part in the Vosges Mountains , St. Mihiel , and Meuse-Argonne offensives. In the second phase of the Meuse-Argonne offensive, the regiment forged a brilliant crossing of the Meuse River . In 1922, the 11th infantry moved to Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana , and remained t for 17 years. World War II = 11th infantry Unit History: In 1939, the 11th joined the 5th Division at Fort McClellan, Alabama and by 1942 was on its way to Iceland and remained t for 15 months until the regiment moved to England .
