This listing represents a very rare piece of womenâe(tm)s WWII uniform memorabilia. you have an original, Enlisted WAC Womenâe(tm)s Army Corps OD Wool Skirt. The skirt is in the desired dark OD wool and is in near mint to mint condition and has the size tag. I had the skirt professionally dry cleaned and the skirt is bordering on the pristine. The skirt is simply crafted. The skirt is pleated. T is a conmar zipper with a button on one side and that is it. The tag reads 26 inch waist, 26 inch length. I obtained a measurement of 13 inches through the waist laying the skirt flat so it does accommodate a 26 inch waist. The skirt is 26 inches in overall length. T are no stains, fraying, or signs of wear. Having been professionally cleaned the skirt is pressed and the wool soft to touch. Incredibly t is no moth damage that I can discern.
Women, and medical personnel, are coming into their own and finally being recognized for their contributions to the war effort and service to our country. Collectors, re-enactors and investors are seeking womenâe(tm)s WWII memorabilia and this piece is a highly scarce. I can not guarantee this will fit you so please bid on this as the rare, sixty-three year old plus artifact that it is. I have included a photograph from page 162 of GI, Government Issue, A Collectorâe(tm)s Guide to the European Theatre. I have listed the WACâe(tm)s Class A and B Overseas Caps, Tan shirt, OD Tunic and WAC Officerâe(tm)s Tan Wool Tie so please check these out. This WWII Enlisted WAC Womanâe(tm)s Wool Skirt that was professionally laundered and in near mint to mint condition would make a phenomenal addition, upgrade and/or completion to a WWII WAC Uniform Collection. It is perfect for wear by re-enactors, and would look terrific in your display, museums, and for educational and theatrical presentations. I am listing a number of caps, uniform items, field gear, insignia, ribbons, home front pieces, etc. this week. Please do a seller-search using my ebay username martinolij to check it out. Thank you.
