Genuine, authentic, original hand signed Hoffmann photograph of General der Infanterie Hans von Obstfelder. Obstfelder was a highly decorated German infantry field commander during WW2. Obstfelder was a career German army officer, serving the Kaiser, the Weimar Republic and the Third Reich. Obstfelder held important infantry division troop commands during WW2 which were in combat during: Invasion of Poland, Battle of France, Operation Barbarossa, Defense of Caen after the Normandy Invasion, Falaise Pocket, and Operation Nordwind. Because of his personal bravery, he was awarded the German Cross in Gold. And because of his extreme personal bravery and successful military leadership in combat, he was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves and Swords, one of only 160 soldiers to receive this high honor during the War. The sepia colored Heinrich Hoffmann postcard photograph shows von Obstfelder wearing his General's uniform and the Knights Cross award, and he has signed his name below his image in blue fountain pen ink. The reverse side is unused/unmailed and in very good condition, with normal Hoffmann backstamps and hallmarks. Scarce. I have been a member of the Manuscript Society since 1956 and am selling part of my collection. See my other Ebay offers.
