WW2 GERMAN ANTIQUE MEDICAL HUMAN PROSTHETIC GLASS EYE DESCRIPTION: Offered to you is this original German late 19th - early 20th century extremely rare artificial eye prosthesis Blue-grey with shades of purple colored iris. Never Used, superb quality hand-blown piece. The eye limb is made of exceptionally thin double walled hollow glass. In the end of the 19th century eye surgery had advanced so much that it allowed the use of these limbs. Excellent craftsmanship. Even for the today’s technology this is a masterpiece of glass art. The iris detail down the cornea and the little red veins in the sclera are truly amazing. These eyes were in use during WWI and WWII, when eye injuries were far too often. Today antique German eye limbs like the one we offer are in such high demand that they posses not only collector’s but museum value as well. German WWII items were destroyed at a great scale after the war by all participating countries. A couple of years ago we were able to completely buy out probably the only untouched military warehouse of leftover captured German WWII equipment including some precious Lazarett field hospital equipment and sets. Most of our items come in original, boxed and unused condition since the war. Most of the German military and medical items that we own and currently sell are among the only left of its kind
