Recently I inherited several WW2 knives, bayonets and swords from my father whom was an American Army scout in France during WW2.I will be listing up to 40 during the next month or so...This bayonet has been engraved CARL EICKHORN SOLINGEN. There is also a squirrel sitting up inside the makers mark. The overall length of the bayonet is about 14" long. The blade, (shinny chrome I think) is almost 10" long. I do not see any traces of rust and I have NOT cleaned the blade or leather holder. The handle is pretty cool, I think it is called stag horn. This handle is unlike all the other ones I will be selling. The leather is in really good shape and the black sheath has some rust towards the tip.Hopefully you can see by the pictures what a great bayonet this one is. It weighs just over 1 lb. My father said that this bayonet belonged to an officer and as he surrendered, he presented this one to my dad.Happy to provide more pictures if you need some, not sure what angle works best for each of you to evaluate.
