is a very nice, matching, WW2 German K98 Mauser bayonet and it's scabbard in excellent condition. The bayonet is marked "bym" (Ferlach of Austria) and is serial numbered "85471 428". The scabbard is marked the same as the bayonet with the addition of "43" below the "bym". "bym" marked bayonets are very desireable and difficult to find. The blade spine is marked "43". The blade on this bayonet has not been sharpened and retains near 100% of it's original finish. The flash guard is excellent with a few nicks. The pommel and cross guard are excellent with no pitting. The grips are in excellent condition with no cracks. The scabbard has near 100% of it's original finish with only the slightest bit of frog wear and NO dents. A VERY nice, original K98 bayonet that will nearly impossible to upgrade.
