antique original WW2 Germany WWII world war two German field surgical kit a pocket sized kit for use in the battle field,
it contains four operating implements ,two scalpels, a scissors and some type of spoon like /scoop like device . the scissors are marked with the famous trade mark of the German medical company AESCULAP , a rare WWII German Wehrmacht doctors field Surgical Set , this set has 'seen the elephant ' the original leather carry wallet is literally in tatters ,. literally falling apart ,.. as you might expect from a real WWII used medics kit the implements show usage and age but are not deeply pitted or damaged ,...these were used by the German medics and doctors at the battle front , for em emergency treatment ,before they could be shipped to the rear of the lines for more through medical treatment , the neatest thing about this little set ,is that it came out of the collection of a world war two us army surgeon named Walter Phillips ,..he saw action beginning in Tunisia -through d day and ended up in Germany at the end of the war ,... he was awarded a citation , during the D day invasion , for treating a record amount of wounded , he must have picked this German operating set up some where along the way ,...probably as a souvenir ...or possibly he was forced to utilize captured German equipment ,as shortages developed at the front ,... this set just reeks of history ,... DONT PASS IT UP -- a great collectable worldwartwo medical kit a must have for all historians and military collectors
