you have the ubiquitous M1 Garand Bayonet for the venerable M1 Rifle. This is the standard 10 inch short bayonet. It is only the third one in years that I have located and listed. The bayonet is marked UC US for Utica Cutlery and has the flaming bomb acceptance mark. This is not the cut down 16 inch bayonet or the cut down WWI Remington bayonet. This is the regulation issue, smaller bayonet that became standard issue to GIs and Marines throughout the war. The bayonet has been used in the field. Most of the bluing has worn off and the tip is a bit rounded but sharp. T are some dings to the blade. The black plastic grips are intact and not cracked with only a couple tiny chips from use. The cross guard, spine and pommel are intact with normal oxidation. The button works well. The bayonet is stamped with the acceptance and Utica Cutlery Stamps under the guard. A similar bayonet to the one I am offering is featured on page 94 of GI, Government Issue, A Collector's Guide to the European Theatre. The shortened bayonets came out in 1943 and the blood gutters do not run to the end of the blade. The bayonet measures 14.375 inches with a 9.625 inch blade. No scabbard is offered with the bayonet. The listing is for the M1 Bayonet, only. M1 Garand Bayonets are getting scarce and pricey. is your chance to pick up an original Model 1943 in outstanding read more
