you have an original WWII US Army Medic (or medical personnel) Armband that is numbered by the US Army Medical Department. The armband comes directly out of my personal collection and is in near mint condition. It was never apparently worn in the field. T is no moth damage, wear, soiling, staining, yellowing or fraying. The sewn on, red cross is vibrant. The armband measures 18 by 3.875 inches. The sewn-on Red Cross measures 3 by 3 inches. T is a stenciled serial number (M557483). I have included photos from GI Government Issue, A Collectorâe(tm)s Guide to the European Theatre, pages 6 and 223. You can see my armband is identical in dimensions, etc, as that displayed in the reference book. My armband has a six-digit number preceded by an M just like the one displayed in GI. Both the AAF and Army would have used this style brassard/armband. The winning bidder can opt for First read more
