This listing represents the item you need to complete your D-Day Paratrooper's uniform collection. you have an original pair of WWII GI Paratrooper Jump Boots. This is only the second pair of WWII Paratrooper Jump Boots I have ever listed. These boots are right out of my personal collection. Further one boot has the maker's label on the tongue. The Red Wing Shoe Company made the boots. The label reads Red Wing's Skytrooper Jump Boot. The label depicts descending paratroopers with a couple of tanks and troopers on the ground. The boots are large by WWII standards and have a name label on the inside. The boots are high top russet leather with eleven lace eyelets and cap toes. According to GI Government Issue a Collector's Guide to the European Theatre these boots were authorized in August 1942 and were replaced in the late summer of 1944 after the D-Day jump. The russet leather exterior is nicely preserved. The interior is lined with suede leather. The leather is soft, pliable and supple. The heels have the paratrooper slant as described in GI and one of the soles retains what looks like a tap. The boots measure approximately 12 inches in length and 4.5 inches at the widest. They appear to be sized between a size 9 and 10. The soles show wear and t is a little separation that is seen in my photos. T is crazing around the cap toes of read more
