This is genuine steelhelmet issued to the British Police Force during WW2 for use during the blitz. The original white ‘POLICE’ stencilling on the front can still clearly be seen. This helmet is complete with its original Mk.I inner lining, dated 1938, size 7” and the original Mk.II chinstrap. It was made by Everett W. Vero & Co., of London is clearly stamped ‘WD’ and ‘VT’. The original dark blue paint finish, almost black, has some slight surface markings but considering this helmet is over 70 years old, it is in very good condition. This is now a very rare helmet and is a must for any WW2 Home Front collector.
