I'm selling this WW2 Japanese Bayonet and Frog. It is an Iwo Jima Trophy, captured by PFC Bill Moss of the 5th Marine Division at the Battle Of Iwo Jima. Bill is deceased, but I am sure he can be easily researched. When he gave me this bayonet many years ago he said the dead Japanese soldier he took it from had many pictures on him dating as far back as the China Campaign. It is obvious that this bayonet has seen some hard campaigning. The bluing is mostly worn off the scabbard and bayonet. They both have a fair amount of pitting. The handle has some wood chipped out on one side and the frog is also well worn. This is a Tokyo Arsenal made bayonet. If you're looking for a true Iwo Jima trophy with provenance this is it.
