This offering is for a vintage authentic WW2 Japanese Map of the Philippine Islands. I can't tell you the exact print date however, the map came from a stack of several maps that were among a collection of WW2 documents at an auction sale. When the items came up on the auction block, the maps were sold separately. Any clues to their intended use or origin went with the official government documents they were with. This map is printed entirely in Japanese on a rice like paper unlike the clay based slick paper usually associated with maps. It is easy to see they have identified all the key shipping lanes in the area in and around the islands. The item measures 30 by 42 inches unfolded and 7 1/2 by 11 inches folded. (folded 4 times) I have provided a picture of the opened map as well as both sides in the folded position. I would venture to say that the map has never been opened prior to my doing so. No rips, tears, spots, holes or damage of any kind. Only very light toning/yellowing. Map has a large inset of what I believe is the region around Manila. Other areas easily identifiable are Luzon, Bataan, Leyte, Subic Bay etc. These vintage maps look absolutely super matted and framed. And this one is in a near perfect state of preservation. Colors are bright and fresh looking. Any bright spots on the opened map are flash glare. A really smart looking piece to compliment your office wall or enhance your WW2 collection.

I will open bidding on this rare piece at $19.99 with no reserve. Shipping will be bagged and boarded in a padded envelope for $3.50 First Class mail. Insurance optional. Overseas bidders welcome but must contact me at auction end to get specific location S/H/I costs. Thanks and good luck.
