Beautifil Navy Kai Gunto Sword with High Grade Fittings,Signed and Dated-Sword is 38 1/2 Inches Overall with a 26 1/8Inch cutting edge. The Blade is 1 1/8Inch wide at the Habaki, and 13/16Inch Wide at the Kissaki, with a 3/4Inch Sori (Curve). It has a Chu Kissaki (Long),and is made of the Stainless and Carbon Steel mix the Navy used. This sword has a Suguha Hamon(Straight) with a Turnback at the Kissaki,a little hard to see but there. The Tang has the Anchor stamp above the Signature, but I am not sure of the correct translation for this Swordsmith, someone a little smarter than me will need to read that Kanji. The Date reads"A Lucky Day in November 1942".The Fittings on this sword are All Copper, including theTsuba and the 2 "Rising Sun"Seppa that have a gold wash on the back. The smaller Seppa are high quality brass, and all are numbered #120 including the Fuchi on the Tsuka handle. The Saya is really nice sanded sharkskin, although there is a crack in the seam close to the end, which could be fixed, but is not that bad.The saya is still solid, but the throat fitting is missing. They are easy enough to get though. The blade is in Excellent condition with some surface scratches near the tip and last third of the blade, and there are 2 Tiny nailcatchers on the last 6 Inches of the Blade edge, hard to see,but I tried to photograph them.No Bends,Nicks, read more
