WW2 Japanese NCO Sword - Copper Handle - No Reserve This is a really interesting find. It is a 100% original copper handle for the extremely rare version of the WW2 Japanese NCO sword. Heavy thick copper handle is 8" long and has quite a hefty weight to it. The speculation is that it was pried off of a sword that was in a pile slated to be destroyed right after the war (probably for the copper value). Why a GI brought it back is anybody's guess. It is a little misshapen from being pried off, and would have to be straightened out in order to mount it on a blade. I have had very good luck with a guy who repairs musical instruments when it comes to this type of restoration. (Just be sure to remind him that you DON'T want this buffed to a musical instrument high sheen when he is done). I can't get the work done because I don't have an NCO sword to use as a guide. But I did confirm that the slot in the handle and such are the correct dimensions and have not been altered. A very rare bird, and absolutely guaranteed 100% Original!!! Shipping weight is 1.5 pounds. Buyer pays only actual shipping from ZIP code 52803, including Delivery Confirmation. I do not charge for packaging materials, and I do not charge for bogus "handling" fees. Please see my other auctions - I am happy to combine shipping. Feel free to ask questions - I accept checks, MO's, PayPal. International bidders welcome. As always - NO RESERVE!!! No bogus "handling" fees - buyer pays actual shipping!!!
