This is a original Japanesse Showa Gendaito signed Kanekiyo. It is in civilian mounts. It has never been in a colllection. I bought it years ago from a GI. It was in a sword bag. The blade is in perfect condition, no nicks or bends, bows, or flaws. It is in original polish with temper line in the point. The temper line is also clear and nice as seen in the pictures. Has maybe nothing scratches but is in all original polish,It is signed with the signature and stamp on the handle. It also has the Showa stamp also. It was made by Nagamura Kanekiyo. It is on page 233 of Swordsmiths of Japan. 1926 -1945 by Fuller and Gregory. It has a combination mon and Kiyo Kakihan according to the book. Also listed as 4th seat as (a good piece of work) page 221 in John Slough Modern Japanese Swordsmith 1868-1945.
