Genuine, authentic, original hand signed photograph of Waffen Elite Obersturmfuhrer Paul Egger.Egger was a high decorated German Air Force Stuka Pilot and Waffen SS Tank Commander during WW2. Egger joined the Luftwaffe in 1938, and soon became a Stuka Pilot and was in combat during the Invasion of Poland and the Battle of France: flew 112 total missions, shot down 3 times, and had several kills. In 1941, he joined Das Reich Division and then transfered to SS Panzer Regiment 2 where is soon became an accomplished Tank Commander. During the Battle of Kiev, he destroyed 28 Russian Communist Tanks, 14 Anti Tank Guns, and 48 other enemy assets. At the Battle of Kharkov he achieved his 65th tank kill, even though his unit was nearly destroyed. In 1944, he fought at Normandy against the Allied Invasion of France at D Day, he destroyed 14 Allied tanks and 4 anti-tank guns. Later in the War he defended Germany against the Russian Communist Invasion and the Defense of the Reich, and on May 3 1945, he recorded 113 Russian Communist Tank kills! Because of personal achievement in aerial combat, Egger received Front Flying Clasp of the Luftwaffe in Gold. As an Elite Waffen Commander, he received the German Cross in Gold for bravery and the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross for extreme personal bravery and successful military leadership in combat. The glossy black and white postcard size photograph shows Egger in Elite Panzer Commander uniform wearing his Knights Cross, and he has written and inscription and signed his name in black fountain pen ink on the right side of the foto.
