WW2 M1 TYPE HELMET - GENUINE WWII HELMET WITH LINER This auction is for a stunning item which is both a beautiful piece of artwork and a solid piece of history! The helmet itself is a typical American type M1 Helmet, however I believe it to be a 'Danish' version, the Liner whilst looking like an exact copy of the American pattern, it has a 'CF' stamp inside it (Danish Civil Defence) (SEE PHOTOS) Aside from the fact that it is technically a Danish Helmet, everything about the helmet looks American! The main feature of this item is the artwork... it has clearly been hand painted with 'enamel paint' although this has been done within the last few years (when purchased i could still smell the paint) but this did not put me off as it looks amazing. My guess is that this was painted specifically for someone, perhaps as a display piece, or even to sit on a Jeep!? (SEE PHOTOS) The artwork is fantastic, and quite unusual, although I'm not entirely sure who 'Jane' is... A wonderful and quite unique piece... ! Keep an eye out for my otherauctions!
