This is a very rare Smiths Convoy Zig-Zag clock by Kelvin & Hughes (Marine) Ltd. London & Glasgow. It is mounted on a wooden board and is in working order. The white square is a paper label explaining the details of the clock. When the minute hand contacts preset brass lugs an alarm sounds to indicate an alteration to the pre-determined course. The whole convoy should then change direction in unison. The clock is in very good condition and in full working order and looks like it hasn't been messed around with. I don't know whether the alarm sounds. It looks like someone has done some electrical work on it so I would imagine it would work when connected up. The face measures 6.5" across.
