You are bidding on an original 1944 WORLD WAR ll CAPTURED German Carl Zeiss JENA Surveyors Level No. 68433 Included with this item is the Original Certificate of Provenance (See Photo) stating: "CERTIFICATE" "I certify that I have personally examined the items of captured enemy military equipment (mail by) Lt. Col. William B. Gara and that the trophy value of such items exceed any training, service or scrap value; that they do not include any explosives, or firearms capable of being concealed on the person; and that the mailing tof is in conformity with the provisions of Sec. III, Cir 353, WD, 31 Aug. 1944, and the existing regulations of the theater commander. "2. The items referred to are: 1 German Transit Zeiss Nivellier C Sign ature: J W Worthington Rank & Branch: Lt. Col. GSC Authorization: H.Q. 16 A.D." The level is in excellent condition. The optics work correctly. The lower motion turns, although needs to be lubricated. The level is housed in a very heavy duty hardwood locking box with the original square headed key included. All of the tools and accessories are present including a small vial of the original lubicating oil. The original manual is included. It is printed in German.
