WW2 ORIGINAL GERMAN GESTAPO OFFICER BLACK LEATHER COAT DESCRIPTION: Offered to you is this original German WW2 Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei: "Secret State Police") officerâe(tm)s leather coat. Special secret police issue. Black in color, typical for the Gestapo. STOCKO buttons. Officers and Officials with ranking of officers were entitled to wear these coats as optional items and were given the choice to have them customized and tailor made as was the case with their uniforms. Well preserved for its age, shows few signs of use, some wear on the inner liner and around the inner pocket. This coat is perfect for reenactment or for display purposes. It would proudly take its place in any WW2 collection. Size: width at shoulders âe" 19âe, total length âe" 33âe , sleeve length âe" 24âe. Scarce and highly collectable item in good condition. This coat along with other coats and uniforms were captured in 1944 from the Wehrmacht while passing through the Balkans on its retreat from the Eastern Front. They were stored in a military warehouse that was sealed until recently. Many of the coats and almost all of the uniforms didnâe(tm)t survive through the years and were destroyed.
