You are looking at a pair of good condition boots. These boots are the 1936 pattern flying boot developed by the RAF in the period leading up to, and during WW2. This pattern was often associated with the fighter pilots of the Battle of Britain and are highly sought after.Condition: These boots are in excellent condition. The leather upper is in excellent condition with some signs of wear due to the age. The leather strap and buckle at the top of the boot are in excellent condition. The boots have also been resoled (quite a long time ago, but please see the photos). The leather embossed manufacturers tabs inside the boots are present and in good condition. Please see the photograph for the details on the label. The sole of the boot measures 29cm (toe to heel) and 10.5cm across the widest part.Inside the boots the sheepskin is all intact and in good condition, there is wear on the insole area, but then you would expect that with the age of the boots. These boots belonged to my grandfather and he had them in the late 1930s. The only confusing thing is my grandfather was in the army and fought in WW1, it is believed he acquired these boots in the late 1930s in order to help with the war effort.
