WW2 RAF/FAA 1st pattern D-type tropical flying helmet, used by pilots in tropical theatres, Africa, Malta etc, made from a tan material lined with silk, this particular example is in good condition for age, zip ears are in good supple condition, the rest of the leather work again in good condition, the lining is slighty dirty from use, but relatively clean, bennet buckle present and in good condition, all prestuds are fine and working, this is the only helmet which will accept every oxygen mask used by the RAF/FAA during ww2, is a size 2, so quite small, will fit around a 55-56 size head, however overall a very rare and desirable, hard to find, original early flying helmet, perfect for aviation flying clothing collection, ww2 avaition musuem and display.
