A very nice WW2 RAF Navigators " Douglas" Combined Protractor and Parallel Rule with original "AM" Air Ministry label and RAF 1942 Map ex RAF Millom Museum Collection named to F/O Hardiman. The rule is in very good condition and very unusually has nearly all of its original pasted paper label instructions on both sides of the card cover! The cover measures approx 14.5 x 14 cm These "Douglas" navigation instruments were used by a variety of the Forces including LRDG but it is quite rare to find one with its original RAF "AM" Air Ministry label especially the paper in such good condition. Overall good / very good condition. Also included in the sale is a WW2 dated 1942 RAF linen backed map of the Eastern Counties including the approaches to London and a small part of the London area. This map was part of the RAF Millom Museum Collection, the museum regretfully closed down in 2011. this map is handwritten named to a F/O Hardiman. It measures approx 75.5 x 56.5 cm and has a print date of January 1942. Map has light usage stains but overall good condition.
