RARE ORIGINAL WWII 40x158mm Japanese Navy Version of the British 2 Pounder Pom-Pom Cartridge in GOOD CONDITION. According to Anthony Williams' book Rapid Fire, the Japanese Navy bought a number of Vickers 2 pounder anti-aircraft guns in the 1920's, before they standardized on the 25 mm Hotchkiss AA cannon used on most ships in WWII. The old Vickers 2 pounders still served in some of the older ships. A truly rare and desirable cartridge! Casing has no dents or damage. Steel tip has only very light (tiny) pitting. Has all original Japanese proof markings. (See pictures.) Tip is missing, but perhaps for display the British tip could be bought on Ebay and substituted or made by a machinist. NOTE: This shell is inert and cannot be made explosive. It does not contain explosives or any kind of detonating device. It is for historical display ONLY . T IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM ! Postage is $13.00, insurance is extra if desired. Please see my other FOR SALE items.
