This is an outstanding ORIGINAL ! This is NOT one of those very good fakes that are floating around! I am so positive that this is original that I am offering a return policy. The winning bidder will have a 5 day inspection period. The helmet can be returned no questions asked within that period as long as it comes back in the condition it left in. This helmet came from a recent estate auction in New England. The helmet has a great original patina. It has honest wear in the proper places. It is an early swivel bale, rear seam. It has stress crack in the bottom, rear (pictured). It has a nice khaki colored chinstrap. The swivel bale, rear seam came into service about fall of 1943 so it is quite reasonable it was use soon after. I have looked at the Ranger diamond under magnification. The orange paint appears hand painted. The number "2" also looks hand painted with a heavy black paint , probably with a stencil. I have placed a reasonable reserve on this helmet to protect my investment. Overseas bidders as usual are welcome. I have many happy customers and sucessfull overseas transactions. I require Paypal or other secure form of payment from overseas. Feel free to ask questions or for more pictures . Thanks !
