For auction is an original WW2 US M1 Garand Bayonet . It will complete your historic rifle and/or collection perfectly. Blade Marked AFH US with the Flaming Bomb . It was made by the American Fork & Hoe Company in Ashtabula , Ohio sometime between 1943 and 1945 . The blade length is just under 10". That is the original length. This is not a cut down. Most of the original parkerization is still intact. The release mechanism is intact and functional. The grips are in super nice shape. T is a small area of dents/dings on the blade spine. Someone put a light edge on the blade. It is nicely done, not butcd. Scabbard It is marked with US and Flaming Bomb . It is marked REP and B/5NB . The REP marking along with the crimped sides of the throat indicate that this is a cutdown of an M3 scabbard. Victory Plastics was contracted to shorten M3 scabbards in August of 1943 to accomodate the shorter M1 bayonet. The wire hanger is intact and in good shape. The two locking studs are intact. The scabbard body is crack free. T is a lot of corrosion and pitting on the metal throat. T are some dings and scratches. If you need any other pictures, please let me know.
