First, a note to eBay: This is a non-firing, not made to fire, never has fired, incapable of firing, never will fire, impossible to fire, don't even think about taking this to make war, dummy. Dummy Training Rifle with a blaze orange plug inserted in its non-barrel. FOR US DOMESTIC SALE ONLY T were 500,000 of these wood and metal Dummy Training Rifles made circa 1943 by the wind mill manufacturer Parris-Dunn Company of Clarinda, Iowa , for which they were awarded the AN "E" award for war production efficiency. This one is a fine original example. The hony blond colored wood is complete and intact, not even the common split near the front band, but does show nicks and scars from useage and storage. The metal pieces have lost most of their original blueing, but the resulting patina is not detracting ( afterall it is over 60 years old ) The knaki web sling looks to have been in place for a long time. The bolt operates and cocks a trigger operated clicker to simulate snap fireing. The adjustable ladder sight works fine. Front lug will mount any bayonet wuitable for a 1903 Springfield, but is especially nice with the companion plastic Navy Training Bayonet....A nice display piece w a "real" weapon is inappropriate.... US Sale Only ... P-D rifle only, other items are display props only.... Three day no questions asked return privilege, read more
