USMC Marine Corps Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot Made Herringbone Twill (HBT) Combat Utility Blouse STONE COLD MINT UNISSUED NEW OLD STOCK with Cutter Tags USMC QUARTERMASTER DEPOT. This HBT shirt, unlike most Marine Corps HBT clothing which was made by civilian garment companies, was made at the Philadelphia Navy Yard w the USMC Quartermaster Depot was located. This Depot, run by the Marine Corps, but staffed with civilian seamstresses, made many field gear (782) items for the Marine Corps including: leggings, M1905 16 inch M1 Garand and M 1903 Springfield Bayonet Scabbard Covers, First Aid Pouches, Knapsacks, Haversacks, Herringbone Twill (HBT) Fatigue Uniforms, Khaki Shelter Halves, etc. If it were a civilian contractor to the Marine Corps it would either have a cloth label in the neck or a black rubber stamp in the neck or inside left. Depot made clothing was cutter tag marked and had only a size stamped in the neck of the waist of the trousers. HARDWARE: Brass US Marine Corps marked buttons with 100% finish. Color: Sage Green Size: 36 is marked in the neck in purple ink. These were made two sizes bigger as they were intended to be worn over other clothing. This will fit some one who wears a size 40 coat. CONDITION: This is a brand new condition ,100% original, shirt with cutter tags still staped all over it. This has never been worn by anyone and can not be upgraded. CUTTER TAG MARKINGS: T is no publication regarding cutter tag markings from the Marine Corps Depot that I am aware of. As such I can only speculate that the numbers on the cutter tags could be production numbers, dye lot numbers, inspector numbers, seamstress numbers, sewing station numbers, pattern numbers, stock numbers, etc. I will let the winning bidder decide. POCKET TYPES: One book I have says round pockets were used on Iwo Jima and Okinawa another equally nice book says they were made after the war.
