you have the ubiquitous icon of the US Marine Corps, the Eagle, Globe and Anchor in excellent condition. The insignia is for a WWII Marine Officer's Green Wool Tunic or Overseas Cap. This EGA has anchor angled right to left so it is correct for wear on the garrison cap. The EGA has a WWII screw back post on the reverse. Hilborn Hamburger made the insignia. T are maker stamps on the reverse. The officer's EGA is larger than an enlisted marine's, and the continents are applied to the globe. It is non-magnetic and the anchor is not fouled. Most EGA insignia are made from fine white metal or brass. The eagle is standing and the continents are applied to the globe for two-piece construction. This is indicative of officers' insignia. It measures 1 1/8 x 11/8 inches. It would look terrific on a uniform, cap or in a display mount.
