This is a very rare WWII Frenchy mess kit, based on the Swiss army pattern, issued to French army officers and also members of the elite French Mountain Troop Corps, the 'Chasseurs Alpin'. It comes complete with interior dish and fits perfectly into one of the two outer pouches of the WWII French army issue musette bag. It is roughly half the size of the regular issue French WWII mess kit. The bottom is stamped with the double-bear mark of pure French aluminum (this is not just written in French - it is a French government stamp, thus differentiating it from the Swiss model). This is the mark you will find on most WWII large size mess kits. The mess kit is complete and undamaged, showing light service wear only. Perfectly usable if desired.
