WWI AMERICAN LEGION 1927 AEF RETURN TO FRANCE ALBUM MEDALS POSTCARDS PHOTOS RED STAR WHITE STAR STEAMSHIP This incredible album is very historically important. T is not another album like this in all of the world!. It is unique! I am hard pressed to do this item justice with just a brief description. The album measures approx. 10" x 14". This soldier was from Cambridge Ohio. Newspaper clippings even list his address. This album documents a solldiers' return to France with the American Legion AEF about 10 years after the war had ended. This fellow embarked with his wife on the White Star Line S.S. Cedric. These two covered a lot of ground. They visited England, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Monte Carlo and of course France. The trip was to have taken six weeks. A final bill from the convention committee is included. Along the way they stopped for candid photos and purchased postcards. These items along with various souvenir paper pieces have been glued in the album. The leather cover (spine material is off) and black album paper are deteriorating. The binding has failed and several pages are loose and have edge tears and loss on the black paper. A bit of the loss affects about 5 of the post cards, 4 photographic images, some of the writing and souvenir literature. An approximate count suggests t are about 125 postcards (some read more
