Fine condition WWI German 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet made in 1917 by Fichtel & Sachs Schweinfurt that has a sharp clear Bavarian Crowned L proof mark on the spine of the blade. This good looking piece has an all bright blade that was never sharpened and no dings on the edge. Original walnut grips have a tight fit and are fine condition. Correct all steel scabbard has a gray and brown finish with some old scale and a slight rough feel. Tough to find Bavarian marked bayonets as this state only made up a small part of the German Army.
