WWI Era AEF US M1912 Cavalry Leather Holster for the Colt M1911 - VERY RARE!! Up for Auction is an Original WWI Era AEF US M1912 Cavalry Leather Holster for the Colt M1911 45acp Pistol. This was the Original design holster issued for the M1911 Colt. This Holster is in very good condition considering it's age. The leather has turned dark with age, but is still soft and supple. All of the steching is intact. T are no fraying in the holster. This shows in the photo. T are no readable date on the rear, however, you can see what appears to be a soldiers name and unit that was hand written on the rear of the holster. It is very faint and not fully legible. Please see page 249 in Edward Scott Meadows Book "US Military Holsters and Cartridge Boxes". Please view the photos carefully. This is a 90+ year old item. These holsters are getting Extremely difficult to find. I have seen these sell at auctions for over $200 each. Don't miss your chance to bid.
