WWI Era Greek Cross Quilt Top, Excellent Condition -NR! QUICK FACTS Item: Greek Cross quilt top Age: late teens - 1920s, World War I era Condition: excellent, just some minor age staining Workmanship: a combination of hand and machine piecing Size: approximately 64 x 88" 's a colorful antique quilt top made around the time of World War I - most of the fabrics were popular around the turn of the century, but I see a couple of those pastel prints that started to appear around 1920 as well. The setting squares are all black and white mourning prints, and t are a number of indigo, turkey red, claret, and other fabrics that are were common in early 20th century quilts. The block pattern is usually called Greek Cross. The piecing was done by both hand and machine (accurate), and the condition is excellent, some minor fraying on back, but no seam separations, holes, or tears that I noticed and just some minor age spotting on the lighter fabrics.
