You're bidding on an WWI "For Mothers of Defenders of Liberty" Medal 1918 pinned to a 48 Star Flag. This bronze medal was formally owned by a WWII Veteran of the Pacific Campaign, who either served in WWI as well or maybe this was his Grand Mother's pin as possibily his Dad was a WWI vet. I wish I knew the details beyond his own personal service. I purchased from his family but they didn't have any details as to whom the pin was presented to. It has been stored pinned to this very nice 48 star linen flag, measuring 12" x 17". I unfolded it to measure and photograph it. Almost thought about auctioning separately, but felt they should stay together. It's special also in that it is dated to the day of it's presentation Sept. 4, 1918, by the City of Rochester, NY. Great Collectible!! CONDITION: A little tarnished but not worn. The flag has pin holes w the medal is pinned to it and two pin holes w at one time it was probably pinned up. All in all in great shape for 89 years. PAYMENT: Money order/bank check, PayPal for immediate shipping. Will accept personal or business check with shipping 7-10 days after our deposit of check. Payment is expected within 7 days from auctions end. SHIPPING & HANDLING: Domestic Shipping & Handling $3.50. International S&H $10.00. Insurance is optional but strongly recommended. I cannot be responsible
