WWI French Helmet with Rare Helmet Plate used by Sharpshooters, Zouaves and Spahis. The rear rim is slightly bent and dented. Some rust spots and the usual scrapes, nicks and wear for an item of this age...but for an item over 90 years old, this is to be expected. The plate is a slightly lighter shade of blue than the helmet, but judging by its wear, rust and overall condition appears to be original to the helmet, or to have at least been in place for many years. I have searched the internet and I have not found anyone who makes reproductions of this particular plate. No liner or chinstrap, but all attachment points for the liner and the chinstrap are present. Study photos carefully.... Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
