Original early Imperial German heavy cavalry type saber that is military marked with a crowned W proof mark and dated 1904 on the spine of the blade. This good looking piece is matching unit marked 15.R.A.3.49 for the 15 th Reserve Artillery Regiment, 3 rd Company, 49 th Weapon. This classic German sword has a full length blade that is bright and gray with some scattered brown pits and a lightly sharpened edge. Original leather covered wood grip has a tight fit and all remaining metal has a old bright finish that is turning gray. Fitted in its correct matching unit marked scabbard that also has an old bright finish and a single hanger ring, no dents or dings. Very nice Imperial German heavy cavalry type sword that is tough to fine with matching markings.
