*RARE* WWI German Gov't War Effort CAST IRON PAN Copper Scroll down for more photos.This pan, dated 1916 at the bottom, was given in the middle of World War I by the German Imperial government to house wives who turned in their copper pans to make munitions. On the handle you can see a woman grasping the hand of a soldier. Around the rim, is German text in rhyme, which translates as: For the Sacrifice of the German Housewife, Who Gave Her Copper for Iron During Our Strife. During the World War 1916.
