You are bidding on a rare, original WWI German Imperial Colonial Medal or Badge rarely offered in minty condition as this one is. It is approximately 1 3/4" in diameter, vaulted (curved) and made of a heavy metal. The front shows a lion, swords and hat in high relief and has an inscription that roughly translates from the German to read: For Service in the Colonies . I assume it refers to German East Africa.The inscription in the center of the back of the medal states: In Memoriam . Also, on the edge it says Ges. Gesch. (protected by law).You will not be disappointed if you bid and win this item.
