This is an original Colt Manufacturing Company 22 ½ " wide by 33 7/8" long poster or chart. It has an old repaired tear and you can clearly see w the two sections were rejoined. One section of the chart was exposed to the air and has a light yellow cast, the other section is primarily white. The reverse side is less differentiated. Two models of pistol are shown on the chart. The first is the Government issue 45 caliber, M1911, which is justifiably one of the most effective and famous weapons ever made. The poster mentions a "Match" model with "Stevens" adjustable sights. The second weapon shown is a an ACE caliber .22 long rifle automatic pistol with the same body, grips etc., as the 45 caliber, but much cheaper to fire. To the left are shown shot patterns and the reason that the shoot was not on target. Using the diagrams the shooter can correct his aim. The first sight picture shows correct aiming with a bullseye. Based on the uniform of the soldier we think this poster/chart is circa WWI or just after. Identified on the bottom right as Colt Form 114M. T is a lengthwise repaired tear as mentioned previously , also t are edge tears and some crumbling on the bottom, see photos, striking nevertheless. Mounted and framed none of these will detract. "S"
